The sweetest person in my life is my husband. He is never negative towards me but is complimentary. I call him my Big Sunshine. He encourages me in all my sewing efforts and helps me when I get stuck. He threads my needles for me and pulls my stitches. Yes, I would have to say, my husband is the sweetest person in my life.

  8. Joanna October 15, 2013 at 2:42 pm #

The sweetest people in my life are my children. I have a degenerative back disease. I had to stop working and have major surgery. These children all have families of their own. They have took care of my bills and every need I have, no matter how large or small-no they’re not rich. 3 are police officers and one works in a plant. They work every hour they can. I am truly blessed to have such wonderful children.

  11. Nadine Medlin October 15, 2013 at 3:37 pm #

It has to be my husband, who never gripes about my quilting stash, helps me with the complicated (?) math when figuring out the backing sizes and never once mentions that in being ambidextrous, I tend to have two left hands as well as two rights. Since the operation on my wrist, he is now learning how to cut my fabric (he is better than I am but let’s keep that a secret). He cooks when I have a deadline and supports me when I sew something in backwards. Yes, he is the sweetest person in my life, loving, kind ,supportive…. I could go on and on.

  12. mynanamaree October 15, 2013 at 3:39 pm #

The sweetest person in my life is our darling granddaughter. She’s is the true light of our lives, and she brings us such joy and very special love! Ever since she was a baby, she has sat on my lap at the sewing machine and loves fabrics as much as I do. She’s 10 now and wants to earn and save enough money to buy her very own sewing machine. She made it perfectly clear that she doesn’t want it as a gift, but wants to pay for it all herself. How can you argue with that?! Thank you so much for the chance to win your awesome giveaway!

  13. Sandy Dagg October 15, 2013 at 4:42 pm #

I would have to say my husband. He supports my fabric addiction. With a laugh he will say “If you need it buy it”

My sweetest person is definitely my wonderful husband of 45 years. He knew I sewed when he married me, and now that I’m a quilter, he loves to see what’s next!

  16. Amy Densmore October 15, 2013 at 6:08 pm #

The sweetest person aside from the wonderful people who live in my house – would have to be my friend Robyn. She always has a smile with pleasant and postive things to say through thick or thin. Definitely the sweetest person I know.

  17. Heather P October 15, 2013 at 6:35 pm #

The sweetest person in my life is my Great Husband I finish treatments for breast cancer this coming Thursday and despite his own problems and pending surgery has been there for me every step of the way with never ending smile and words of encouragement. And although I cannot quilt today he says “don’t worry your in your planning stage!”

  20. Kathy Raabe October 15, 2013 at 8:39 pm #

The sweetest person in my life is my mother in law. She has MS and is unable to move at all, except for one hand. She could be a negative, crabby person, but she is not. She has been in a nursing home for 13 years, and tells fellow residents they are blessed to wake up every morning. I have chronic pain and am disabled myself, and I really consider her my hero, in addition to the sweetest person I know. Lucky to have her, and her son!

  21. Ellen October 15, 2013 at 9:37 pm #

The sweetest person in my mom. She always sees the best in everyone and supports all of her children and their spouses.

My sweetest person is my sister, i live in alberta and was affected by the floods and one of my co-workers was evacuated for over a month or more in High river Alberta and my sister Heather felt so bad for him (and she has never even met him) that she made him and his wife a quilt to help cheer them up for all he lost. that is pretty sweet i think.

  23. CathyK October 15, 2013 at 11:14 pm #

The sweetest person in my life is my sister, Esther. She supports me through thick and thin, is there for me always, and makes me laugh like no other. She just threw me an unbelievable 50th birthday party because she said everyone needs to have one very special birthday in their life. She is also a breast cancer survivor…eleven years and counting. I am so blessed to have her in my life. Thank you for the chance!

  24. MoeWest October 16, 2013 at 12:20 am #

The sweetest person in my life is my daughter. She is always cheerful no matter how busy her life gets.

  25. Carol J October 16, 2013 at 12:34 am #

Oh – do we have to pick just one??? I guess first off would have to be my Mom. She is always there for me, no matter what (and I’m 40ish lol), she is my biggest supporter, and she is afflicted with the same addiction as me – Quilting!! It’s not a problem talking SEX (stash enhancement excursion) with mom, as we both try to partake as much as we can LOL. My Hubby runs a close second. He is not a quilter, but he supports me and encourages me. AND he likes to visit our local quilt shop almost as much as I do!!

  26. Christine in Alberta October 16, 2013 at 1:32 am #

One of the sweetest people in my life is my husband who bought me my longarm machine and encouraged me to start my own business when health issues made it impossible for me to keep a regular job. And the other sweetest person in my life is my mom as she is my biggest cheerleader. I am very lucky to have these two wonderful people in my life.

  27. Sherry Krogstad October 16, 2013 at 9:10 am #

Just one? Humm….Between my Mom, sister and daughters…that’s a tough one but really I will have to mention my husband. He doesn’t always understand but he is ALWAYS (so far-27 years and counting!) there for the support…good or bad. Love ya hon.

  28. Carolyn Herbert October 16, 2013 at 1:06 pm #

The sweetest person in my life is my friend Laurie. Every time we get together we have such sweet fellowship together. She is so encouraging and brings such refreshing & wise insight into my life.

  29. Anne Ryan October 16, 2013 at 4:40 pm #

Jim, my husband, is the sweetest because he read to me at chemo to make the time go faster, fixed me anything to eat even if I then didn’t eat them, thought I looked sexy in my wig, drove me in a snowstorm so I could work some for my mental health, and watched chick flicks with me that he never would, have watched..Who really knows at 21 that the man we marry will be better than you ever expected?

  30. Darlene Jacolik October 16, 2013 at 10:12 pm #

The sweetest person in my life is all of my grandchildren. They are always so happy to visit Grandma and Papa. We play games and do crafts together. They think that Grandma can fix absolutely anything with her sewing machine or a needle and thread.

  31. Kathleen Lambert October 18, 2013 at 2:43 am #

The sweetest person in my life is my sister. We shop for fabric together, we quilt together and can even finish each others sentences. She will always be my biggest supporter and my best friend forever.

  32. Marian Jimmo October 18, 2013 at 4:17 pm #

When I had 4th; stage colon cancer, my daughter Sharon closed up her house and came and stayed with me at the hospital when I had the surgery. Went to all the chemo sessions and still drove 75 miles round trip 5 nights a week to her job. I was on Hospice and she was there by my side. I couldn’t have made it without her and my God. Praise God, I am now cancer free. Sharon also lost her husband a year before to cancer, yet she still had time for me. She is and always will be “My Best Friend.”

  33. connandvansmom October 19, 2013 at 9:02 am #

The sweetest person in my life is my husband John. Ian going through the horror of breast cancer presently. He has been by my side the entire time. He takes off work to go to each appointment with me. When I break down and cry he holds me and tells me he loves me and that we will work it all out. He holds my hand and gives me strength to make it through. He tells me he doesn’t care that I have had to lose my right breast. Because he still has me. That thank goodness he hasn’t lost me. That I am the most important thing in his life. He spent day and nights besides me with my last surgery he never left my side while I was in the hospital for both of my surgeries. And I know he will be their for next couple that I still have to go through as part of this. He is helping me as I go through the horrors of reconstruction. He helps with the kids as best he can while still working 2 jobs to take are of us. He has always supported my sewing & quilting and creativity. He goes to the fabric and craft stores with me. He will buy me a new quilting magazine because he knows I love to get them as budget allows. He asks what I am working on and then shares the pictures with his co workers. He brags on my creations. And he asks what do I need or what can he do for me. He is the worlds sweetest husband. And I love him more than words can ever say. Next month we celebrate 25 years of marriage. I am so thankful to be married to my best friend, my lover and confidant. We may not have a lot of things that others take for granted; but we have the best marriage. One filled with true love and friendship. conn_and_vans_mom@yahoo.com

  34. Shirley aka Petunia Pinner October 19, 2013 at 11:49 am #

Hi, Patti!! Petunia Pinner here ☺
Their are two “sweetest” people….well there are a whole lot more but two that really stand out.

1st – my daughter – my best friend. She fought cancer in 2005 when her little girl was only 17 months old. Was given the all clear late 2006. Then in 2007 and again in 2008 gave us two wonderful grandchildren. I used Northcott’s Quest for a Cure fabric in 2006 to make a “helping hands” quilt for her for Christmas 2006, with hand prints of all my family and was blessed to have traced my mom’s hand print the day before she died.

2nd – my hubby. He really, really has come a long way in supporting my quilting “addition”. As I work full-time again, he does the laundry, cleaning house, makes suppers….name it so that I can have some time to enjoy my “me-time” in the sewing room.

Thank you for all of Northcott’s support in such a wonderful cause♥

  35. Elizabeth Larson October 19, 2013 at 3:19 pm #

Well, like many others, the sweetest person I know is my husband. He never complains that the house is a bit messy or the dinner isn’t gourmet when I have spent the day in my sunlit sewing room, which he had built as an addition to our house (500 sq feet). When I mentioned that I didn’t have room for all my fabric, he converted unused space to a 144 sq ft closet for my fabric and even built shelves for it !! He even budgets a quilting allowance every month and lets me attend the Houston International Quilt Festival. I also get to visit my grandson at the same time who happens to live in Houston.

I can’t think of anything else he could do to support my love of quilting.

P.S. He does enjoy the quilts, too.

The sweetest person I my life is my boyfriend because he is so thoughtful and considerate. He brings me candy from the grocery store, makes coffee in the morning even though he doesn’t drink it- things like that. He’s just a keeper in so many ways. ;)

She truly is my hero. In May of this year I introduced her to quilting. She is totally hooked! Not only are we cancer buddies we are best friends and now quilting pals…..life is good!

The sweetest person in my life was my mom who died suddenly at age 64, (when I was 37.)The miracle is that her sweetness lives in in my sisters – not that they are always sweet (they’re sisters, right?) but they have Mama’s sweetness of spirit too. My mom’s name was Janet – so we 3 sisters are always saying to each other when we come upon difficult circumstances, “WWJD-What would Janet do?” She would say something like “that person is grumpy because they are unhappy about something – so try to make their day a little lighter with a smile.” She loved my husband too – he’s another sweetie. I am so lucky I grew up such a sweet parent and live my life everyday with a sweet family!!! I want to make a quilted shawl for the prayer shawl ministry at church, full of sweet fabric and stitches.

  42. Patty Hibrant October 24, 2013 at 4:07 pm #

My husband of 30 years, Doug, is the sweetest person in my life. He is my best friend, a wonderful dad to our 2 awesome boys, an amazing son to his parents, a supportive and caring brother, uncle and friend.

  43. Pam October 25, 2013 at 11:18 pm #

The sweetest person in my life is my three-year-old granddaughter. She always reminds me of how my joy there is to be found in life.

  44. Chris Teague October 26, 2013 at 5:11 am #

The sweetest person in my life is my mother-in-law. I met her 33 years ago and knew at that moment she would be a guiding force in my life if I married her son. She has been my strength through my loss of parents, my spiritual guide through her personal relationship with God, a source of humor (the sly kind you have to listen for) and the woman I most look toward for example as the mother-in-law I wish to be one day. I love her so much and am blessed to be in this family. (My sister-in-law runs a close second…. I met her brother through her!) (ok…. she ties for 2nd with MY sister! But it’s a close race)

  45. Barb Johnson October 29, 2013 at 12:13 pm #

I have to say that the sweetest person in my life is my daughter. She is always considerate of everyone’s feelings, and never has a bad thing to say about anyone!

  46. Bunnie October 30, 2013 at 11:11 am #

My sweetest person is, as predicted, my husband. Supporting me in my new business venture of writing quilt patterns. He encourages me when I doubt myself, jumps in to help when deadlines approach, stuffs envelopes for mailing. He’s still my sweetheart after almost 30 years.

  47. Karen Propes November 1, 2013 at 3:09 am #

The sweetest person in my life is my husband. He supports me through my illinesses and is always right there to help me no matter what the chore. When I’m quilting, he helps me by helping me cut when I can’t get my hands to work, and my biggest fan always cheering me on with each new idea or project. He never complains when I spend to much for fabric or other notions and always gets me gift certificates or buys fabric and notions to help aid me in my quilting. He points out all the beautiful additions I put extra in my quilt and is the biggest help when I lay it out. He takes pictures and then helps me rearrange all the blocks and see which looks the best. I love him so, he’s always in my corner no matter what the challange. Thanks for the chance to win.

What a lovely line!! My husband is my sweetie – has been for 35 years!

  50. Rosemary November 14, 2013 at 8:10 am #

The sweetest person in my life is my 19 year old son, even though I know my quilting is not always perfect because I am still trying to get it right, he is there to let me know that I am doing a great job, and how much he likes the patterns and colors, and when I am at my sewing machine he lays by me and is there to support me for what ever reason, I am more at ease when he is by my side.

  51. Gayle November 14, 2013 at 8:21 am #

This is a hard question! The sweetest person in my life has to be my husband. We’ve been together for 33 years. When he asked me why I had so many sewing machines, I told him it was cheaper than therapy so he built me an 18X22 room to craft in.

  52. THERESE November 14, 2013 at 9:02 am #

My husband is my Sweetest person in my life. He supports and guides me to make my hobby very much perfect & neat . I adore & love him

  53. mblittle5 November 14, 2013 at 8:55 pm #

I’m really lucky to have more than one really sweet person in my life. My son is certainly one of the sweetest people in my life. Yesterday was my mom’s birthday. She passed away earlier this year. My son called and said “Let’s have lunch” so I wouldn’t be moping around the house. Another is my daughter-in-law (married to my other son). They live in Germany and spent last Christmas with us before my son deployed to Afghanistan. He’s back safe and sound and wanted to spend Christmas with us again. I figured they’d spend Christmas in California this year with her family since they were here last year, but they’re coming here again – her choice so he could be with us again. How lucky am I?????

  54. Connie McCahan November 15, 2013 at 12:58 am #

The sweetest person in my life is June B. She makes sure my husband and I get paid in a timely manner. You see, we’re electricians and travel throughout PA and MD installing LED lights in freezer cases for a grocery store chain. We enjoy the traveling and meeting new people. In addition, whenever I find a quilt shop, my husband waits patiently while I select fabrics I like. Hmmm, maybe I should add him to the list too! Anyway, June cares and is thoughtful enough to remember us while we are on the road and I consider her a friend too. Especially when you know she has a lot of other people / contractors to deal with.

  55. BT November 16, 2013 at 3:19 pm #

The sweetest person in my life is my daughter who lives with me. She is always my critique about color and will go with me anywhere I go to look at fabric, patterns, and any else quilting. I am very thankful to have her friendship. She will be 50 in January.

  56. Carol November 16, 2013 at 10:16 pm #

I will have to say the sweetest person in my life is my husband. He never complains about my quilting, or my ” building my stash” habit. He now will stop at quilt shops when we travel; however, I have to be quick, but I usually have just enough time to purchase a couple of fat quarters.
